While on assignment in Dallas, TX I found out about a small climbing area an hour to the west of the Metroplex. A group of us decided to check it out to see what outdoor climbing North Texas had to offer. After a short drive west and even shorter approach we were at the base of a narrow canyon with rough sandstone 50’ high on either side of us. This was Rebeca and Daniel’s first time climbing outdoors and they each took 4 or 5 laps on top rope. Jim was the only one with climbing shoes that day so the rest of us struggled to get purchase with our feet. It was nice to stumble upon this crag and I plan to visit frequently (when stuck in Dallas).
