South Maroon 14,156’ &

North Maroon 14,014

The Maroon Bells are iconic mountains located 10 miles west of Aspen. They are often referred to as the most ‘famous’ mountains in Colorado. In addition to their beauty they also pose a stout challenge for the aspiring alpinist. After a successful summer of climbing EJ and I decided to knock off one of Colorado’s climbing classics, the Maroon Bells Traverse. We made the traverse of the Bell’s from South to North with a few minor route finding issues. We made the round trip in approximately 13 hours car to car. The descent of North Maroon Peak was the hardest part of the day.
