Kelso Ridge, Class 3

July 2010

EJ & I had though he was battling a “bug” for the past 3 months but as it turns out that it was allergies all along. This “bug” has kept EJ on the sidelines for the past 3 months but with our Wyoming trip in quickly approaching we both knew we needed to get out and stretch our lungs and legs. For that reason we chose a mountain that we’ve climbed numerous times but elected to try out a  route that neither of us had ever done. We found Kelso Ridge to be an adventurous alternative to the usual slog up the Gray’s Trail. We climbed the route with little difficulty with the exception of a couple minor route finding errors. Our roundtrip time was a little over 5 hours and the weather was perfect all day. We’ll definitely need a couple more days out before we tackle the Grand.
