I’ve been living in Central Illinois for almost 6 months now and with the exception of the yearly climbing trip EJ and I have, I hadn’t climbed at all. I had been killing time running quite a bit and participating in races from 5k’s to 35 milers but I still had the urge to get outside and climb.

Seeing that rock climbing partners are difficult to come in Central Illinois, I turned to  mountainproject.com and met Shawn. He hadn’t been climbing in awhile either so it was a pretty good pairing. We settled on Jackson Falls and planned to drive down after work on Friday evening and climb all day Saturday. The plan worked out just as I had hoped and the weather was perfect. The Falls were pretty crowed but there were 100’s of climbs so it was easy to find one that looked like it would go. Here are a couple of photos from my trip.
